The much awaited gadget of the year, the iPhone has been officially announced by Apple. The tech pundits have already started ranting about whether iPhone 5 will be a miraculous amidst other high end smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S3 and the recently launched Nokia Lumia 920.

With iPhone5’s launch, a lot of features that were being speculated by gadget freaks have proven to be true. The new iPhone has a larger 4 inch screen with a resolution of 1136×640. The pixel density is 326 ppi, which is the same as Apple iPhone 4S. With a 16:9 aspect ratio, the screen will be best for reading and watching movies.
The iPhone5 is 20 % lighter and 18% thinner than its predecessor. It has been built wholly out of glass and aluminium, that have contributed to the reduced weight and thickness. The iPhone5 is also the first LTE phone by Apple and will be shipped for Sprint, Verizon and AT&T’s LTE networks.
The 8 megapixel camera on the newly launched iPhone 5 also makes the device shine. The camera is said to have a better performance in low light conditions. It has a built in panorama mode and can snap pictures while recording videos. Not to forget, this feature is already present for quite long on HTC’s Android smartphones.
Lets see what more features will be unveiled by the end of the event.
