A far cry from Sony so far in their tablet product line. Not a head turner with its mediocre design but one can find it far better than other when it comes to slimness. No doubt it is ultra slim there is nothing like it in the market that lean and smooth yet quite sturdy. Now you can splash some water over this one of kind tablet and it won’t complain, not at least for 30 mins. Folks who don’t like Sony should think of something else other than waterboarding ;p. let’s get down to specifications.

Important specifications

  • Clear and sharp images with moving camera or still thanks to mobile bravia. 10.1 inch TFT display with 1200 by 1920 with 16M colors and with capacitive touch screen.
  • Water resistant for upto 30 mins and can even stand water jets.
  • Multi touch upto 10 fingers.
  • Facebook, Twitter, Picasas etc total package of all social networks.
  • Android jelly bean 4.1 while 4.2 planned.
  • Widgets, wide range of miniapps.
  •  1.5 Ghz Quadcore krait carry multi tasks efficiently. Plus 2GB RAM, NFC, micro SD expansion slot, LTE.
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Gyro, Compass.
  • 8.1 Mega Pixels coupled with EXMOR technology. Not a good cam to use indoor though plus it somewhat takes image noise badly.
  • Rounded edges, reflective cantors all around beseeched by an innovative skeleton frame.
  • Dust proof well it’s obvious if water cant make in how would dust.
  • With NFC you just can connect with another device with single tap and also it has TV integration capability that gives you the option to watch your HD vids, music, films on home screen.
  • 2G,3G and some different versions of 4G.

Some negative points

  • Runs on a dead weight chipset and jelly bean.
  • Can’t see what’s in there when I peek into it outdoor.
  • While it has set a high standard in thinness but it still lags behind in audio as compared to its rivals in market like iphone and Samsung.
  • Lags a little than current leading brand in the market.
  • And battery seems like too small for a tablet of that caliber.

Review (short and sweet)

I would say a must buy for tablet freaks it has almost all that one would consider buying a better brand in terms of tablet but it still has some issues like it carries out activity when soaked in water that means that even if it waterproof you can’t just play with it in your Jacuzzi. Rather it’s better you play with tweety. And the old version of chipset and android is something I didn’t expect from Sony but anyway considering the whole thing design, hardware, level of tech that is put into this thing it’s fair enough to be on the shelves. Over all it’s a good one from Sony so far.
