Paper shredders have become as common as personal computers in the office these days and with good reason. Shredding your documents is essential if you need to keep personal and company information under wraps. Luckily, there are plenty of paper shredders out there and some of them are surprisingly technologically advanced. Here are three that are perfect for office use:

  • The Dahle CleanTEC 41214.  The Dahle CleanTEC series features machines that have air filters to help keep paper dust out of your office’s atmosphere. Also, these shredders have the ability to stop via voice commands. The 41214 was designed for small office use and it offers cross-cut security as well as an 11-sheet shredding capacity. This machine can shred credit cards and documents that still have paper clips and staples stuck to them. Also, the 41214 has a SmartPower energy management system to help you reduce your power consumption and keep the machine in great shape.
  • The Intimus 175CC3. This is one of Intimus’ newest shredders and it’s loaded with some technologically advanced features. For one thing, the 175CC3 has a Silentec system to ensure quiet shredding and there’s also an i-control feature that keeps you informed as to what’s going on. This shredder has the ability to shred up to 45 sheets at once and it will also shred CD’s, DVD’s, and credit cards. You won’t need to worry about the different types of waste getting mixed up because the shredder has a 2 x 2 system to keep the plastic and paper bits separate. The 175CC3 also has an automatic oiler for hassle-free maintenance.
  • The Swingline Stack-and-Shred 500X.  Finally, we have the 500X which can shred up to 500 sheets at once thanks to its advanced technology. The machine also has an anti-jam feature and the cutters are self-cleaning. Like the 175CC3, this machine will shred credit cards and CD’s, and there is a separate slot for these items. If you are worried about someone reading your documents before they are shredded, you can use the 500X’s pin lock to secure them after you close the machine’s lid. Also, you don’t need to worry about disturbing your colleagues since the 500X operates quietly.

The three shredders listed above have a lot of terrific features thanks to advances in technology. A few years ago, it didn’t seem possible that a shredder could respond to voice commands or destroy an entire ream of paper in one go. Thus, these shredders are perfect if you want a technologically advanced machine that can help you protect your private information at the office.
