Enable Godmode in Windows 7

Wouldn’t you like to control and customize the settings of your PC all from a single place? You may say that with control panel, we can do that already. But from control panel, you cannot customize the settings than you could with Godmode. Godmode is a folder that lets you customize your PC for a wide range of settings from a single place.

Godmode doesn’t come by default on your Windows 7 installation. Godmode is basically a folder with a special name with lots of customization options. You basically need to create a new folder and rename it with a special name so that it automatically turns into the Godmode folder. Godmode doesn’t work with XP and not very well with Vista either; it is basically for Windows 7.

To, begin with, create a new folder on your desktop or any other place that you feel comfortable. Now rename your folder as “GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}” (without quotes) and hit Enter. You’ll instantly see the folder icon change into something else, the Godmode folder icon. Open it by double clicking and you’ll see a long list of customization options for your computer all at a single place.

There are a lot of other Godmodes as well with lots of customization options for other settings. Here is a list of the Godmodes known. Rename a new folder with the names specified below to get different Godmodes.

  1. Godmode.{00C6D95F-329C-409a-81D7-C46C66EA7F33} – To provide default location for programs to use when a default location sensor like a GPS receiver is not available.
  2. Godmode.{0142e4d0-fb7a-11dc-ba4a-000ffe7ab428} – To set biometric devices with Windows; you can configure a fingerprint reader to login to Windows from here.
  3. Godmode.{025A5937-A6BE-4686-A844-36FE4BEC8B6D} – To select power plans to optimize the performance of your computer. Useful for laptops and netbooks.
  4. Godmode.{05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9} – To choose the icons and the notifications that appear on the Windows Taskbar.
  5. Godmode.{1206F5F1-0569-412C-8FEC-3204630DFB70} – To store the credentials for automatic login. With credentials manager you can you can store credentials such as user names, passwords to easily login to other websites.
  6. Godmode.{15eae92e-f17a-4431-9f28-805e482dafd4} – To install a program from the network.
  7. Godmode.{17cd9488-1228-4b2f-88ce-4298e93e0966} – To set your default programs on Windows. You can have settings for setting a default program, associating file types and protocols with a program, change Autoplay settings and Set programs access and computer defaults.

With these handy Godmodes, you can customize your computer and do a lot many things quickly and easily.
