But do you have had complaints from friends saying that you don’t reply to them even when you are online 24 hours a day? Sounds strange but for many people, Facebook shows an online status even when the person is offline. Well it could possibly be because you could be using some instant messaging application on your mobile Phone. If you use IM+ application on your Windows Phone device for chatting over Facebook and are being shown online all the time, here’s how you fix it.
IM+ is the most popular instant messaging application for Windows Phone devices. You can download IM+ from the Windows Phone marketplace and startusing it. Configuring is very easy and you can add multiple accounts from Facebook, Yahoo etc. But you may or may not be aware that IM+ keeps you connected to your accounts even when the IM+ application isn’t running on your phone. So, if you are an IM+ user, your friends could be seeing you online on Facebook all the time, even when you are not online actually.
To fix it, open up IM+ application on your Windows Phone and sign in to Facebook. Now click on the settings icon at the bottom once you get connected to your Facebook chat. You will see settings for your Contact List, Notifications and Push Settings. Go to Push Settings. The first option will ask you if you want to keep IM+ connected to your accounts all the time, even when the application isn’t running. Turn the setting off; it is turned on by default. Now head back to the main contacts window and start enjoying your chat. Now, you won’t be shown online on Facebook even when you aren’t actually online over it.
Thus if you are an IM+ user and are shown as online on Facebook even when you aren’t, you can simply turn off the auto connect option on IM+.
