Did you know that one of the more common reasons for busted computers is power surges? Here are a couple of tips for protecting your PC from them.
Get the right equipment:
You should try to purchase an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) or a voltage regulator for your system. By having either of this equipment you would be able to protect your system from power surges. The UPS would even give you the additional benefit of not totally turning out the current in case of an outage.
You may want to contact an IT support company to find the proper Uninterruptible power supply or voltage regulator that would be fit for your current computer setup.
Avoid sticky situations:
The simplest way to avoid power surges is to avoid the situation entirely. This means that if you are already suffering from power fluctuations or are in a stormy environment, then just unplug and wait for a better time to use your computer.
