Wolfram Alpha App now coming to Android

wolfram alpha logo With the upsurge in developments of new Android applications and announcement of some great upcoming applications like Google Docs for Android, Wolfram Alpha has announced the release of Wolfram Alpha app for Android. The company has announced in its blog that the Wolfram|Alpha App for Android will be avaialbe on October 6, 2010 and they have teamed up with T-Mobile to launch the app. The app will be available for download on the T-Mobile channel for download on the new T-Mobile G2 phone.

The app is compatible with devices running Android 1.6 and later. It will comprise the full potential of the Wolfram|Alpha computational engine. Users be able to use voice input capability so that they can speak their queries and get answers in a snap. The company says in its blog,

“The app integrates Wolfram|Alpha’s growing repository of curated data, including over ten trillion data elements, and its library of tens of thousands of sophisticated computational models, to deliver knowledge quickly and seamlessly, on demand, anywhere.”

The price for Wolfram Alpha Android app will be $1.99 and will be available on the T-Mobile Channel for Download. Wolfram-Alpha had released its i-Phone app about a year ago and the price initially was $49.99. Later they lowered the price to $1.99 and also offered refunds to those who had already purchased it.
