The number of Facebook likes on a page helps us determine the usefulness of the page a lot. These days, Like buttons are used by all sites big and small. Matt Cutts from Google had also mentioned once that the number of likes on a webpage can considerably boost its search engine rankings. When you search on Google, you get the results that Google thinks is the most relevant one. Wouldn’t it be great to quickly see the number of Facebook likes next to each search result on Google? With the Google +Like extension, you can have this benefit.

You just need to install the plugin and do no more. Once installed, you will start seeing Facebook Like buttons next to each search result on Google. You can also like a web page right on the search results. The extension is available for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Here is a video showing how Google +like works.

The +Like extension took inspiration from Google’s recently launched +1 button. The +1 button can be seen in the search results page and works in a similar way as Facebook’s Like button. The developers say that the Google +Like extension was created in One day using the Crossrider framework. Google +Like can help a lot in determining what people like on the Google search results.
