Xoopit lets you easily access the multimedia content of your Gmail account. You won’t have to perform those tedious searches looking for your mails with attachments, Xoopit makes images or video viewing experience much like that in Social Networking sites. You can also share your media contents over other popular social networking sites.
Xoopit can be used in various ways. You can use it as an add-on in your firefox browser, in your Google homepage iGoogle, or through their website Xoopit.com. Once you install the plugin in Firefox and let it access the data in your Gmail account by providing the credentials required(Your username and password), Xoopit will start digging deep into all of your mail archives and after 24 hours you will be able to browse your images or videos inside Gmail via a streaming bar at the top. You can also view these files without logging in to Gmail. Just logon to Xoopit and start viewing or downloading your photos or videos.
Xoopit indexes the content of your Gmail via an IMAP interface. After installing Xoopit, you will be able to see thumbnails of the videos or picture in the Gmail’s search at the sidebar. Xoopit will let you sort the media files in reverse chronological order. You can also sort your media by the addresses of people who sent it to you, by source(Flickr, Youtube, Shutterfly, or Picasa) or by file type. You can simply access the content of an album in Flickr by a URL send to you. Xoopit makes it easy to share the media with friends over Facebook or Twitter, comment on photos and much more.
With Xoopit, you can search the web while composing your mail and add the details directly into your message. It will also let you learn about your contacts in the address book.
