The chat box on Facebook had recently started showing thumbnails instead of names. As evident from the new features rollout today, the changes in chat box was a beacon for the New group chat feature, an added treat to the New Facebook Groups. Other options like Advanced Privacy settings and downloading all your data uploaded to Facebook have been added.

The average size of a web page has increased by more than five times since 2003. The average size of a webpage used to be about 93.7 KB in 2003 while now it is about 507 KB. Doing the maths, we get around 5.4 times increment in the size of a webpage. When the data as of now was evaluated with that of 1995, a whopping 35 times increment in size was seen for a single web page. This is just about size. The web components have tremendously increased in the recent years and since 2003, the average number of objects per page has more than doubled.

Retweet buttons are seen in most of the websites these days. Its snappy to tweet a URL from the very site with the help of a retweet button. But sometimes, these buttons don’t function well and get sluggish at times. And some were unable to communicate with URL shortening services. Even the official tweet button by twitter takes a longer time to load. So, a faster loading minimal type retweet button for a site would prove to be very fruitful.

Internet Explorer Tab or IE tab is a very useful plugin for chrome that enables you to view a page as it would look on Internet Explorer. But besides that it is also nifty for some other tasks like print previewing in Google Chrome, downloading via download manager on right-click and so on.

Sites like Rapidshare, Megaupload, Filefactory generally don’t require sign ups and all we need to do is upload a file and copy the URL provided for sharing. But sometimes, we are disappointed when Rapidshare or Megaupload show ugly error pages. But, a tiny greasemonkey script help us know such links very easily.

Generally, we get to see videos from Youtube and Vimeo embedded in sites. But some blogs host videos on their own servers. Downloading videos from popular sites like Youtube, Vimeo, Metacafe is easy and many online tools are available for that. Keepvid, Javimoya, etc. let you download videos from most of the popular videos hosting and sharing websites. But the ones that aren’t available for download via these sites can be downloaded via internet explorer.

After being on my old domain http://www.bishaladhikary.com.np for a couple of months, I finally decided to move to this one. Actually my friend Ghtozkat suggested me that as the domain was a country domain of Nepal, the traffic would be targeted to Nepal by default. So, he suggested me to move to a new domain .com, .net or .org and so I moved my Wordpres blog to this domain. Well I had to go through a lot of processes to get all my previous posts on this domain and then finally redirect my old domain to this.

Till now the desktop application Picasa used for uploading photos to Picasa Web Albums was only available for Widows XP and Vista. Mac users were relying upon a standalone Picasa Web Albums uploader and iPhoto album plugin for uploading photos to their Web Albums.
