Avid commentators are pretty much familiar with Disqus. Disqus now adds a feature that lets people use “@” mentions in the comments like in Twitter and Facebook. You can tag any user with their Twitter or Disqus username using the “@” symbol followed by the username or any person who has commented on the same post.

The Twitter Fail Whale, that is employed by Twitter when it is overcapacity is very popular. It is a garphic created by Yiying Lu which shows a whale being held up by a flock of birds in an ocean. Such a scenario isn’t conceivable in the real world but a photograph taken under the sea featuring a frail turtle swimming over a reef and a couple of fishes hovering around it is very similar to the Twitter Fail whale.

Yesterday I felt elated upon logging in to Techattitude’s Twitter account to find that the account had been activated for the New Twitter. Techattitude doesn’t have many followers as of now so I was thinking that the New Twitter would be activated for Techattitude only after it crosses a certain followers threshold. But the New Twitter for my account totally left me amazed and I later thought that maybe it was activated for all users. I also have another (kind of personal) Twitter account that I use off and on. So, I logged in to that but to my despair, it wasn’t yet enabled for the New Twitter. So, I wondered what kept it on the waiting list. Maybe it was the incomplete profile information.
