There are some programs on your computer that you cannot live without. Be it your favorite browser, your music player or any other software related to your profession; there are always a couple of them that you use everyday. Wouldn’t you like to open up such programs at startup without firing them up one by one once you start your computer? Well here is a simple trick to choose programs that you would like to kick start automatically after your computer boots up.

The idea is to add the shortcut of your favorite software to the Startup Folder. Press Windows+R to get the Run dialog and enter the following and press Enter.

C:\Users\yourcomputername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Replace yourcomputername with the name of your computer. You can also manually browse to this folder location using Windows Explorer.

Now, copy the shortcut of your most used applications and paste them to this folder. The easiest way to add shortcut to this folder is by dragging the icon of an application to this folder while holding the Alt key. Once you have added the shortcuts, you are done. Now everytime you open up you computer, the respective applications automatically start at your startup whose shortcuts are added to this folder. But do not add too many programs to the folder or it may cause your system to slow down at startup. All in all, this can be very handy to get your favorite software running automatically after your computer boots up.
