Facebook, the state of the art social networking website has been made into a movie now. The movie entitled, “The Social Networks” was directed by David Fincher and was released yesterday. The screenplay was adapted from Ben Mezrick’s non-fiction novel, The Accidental Billionaires. No members of the Facebook family including Mark Zuckerberg were involved in the project.

Yesterday I felt elated upon logging in to Techattitude’s Twitter account to find that the account had been activated for the New Twitter. Techattitude doesn’t have many followers as of now so I was thinking that the New Twitter would be activated for Techattitude only after it crosses a certain followers threshold. But the New Twitter for my account totally left me amazed and I later thought that maybe it was activated for all users. I also have another (kind of personal) Twitter account that I use off and on. So, I logged in to that but to my despair, it wasn’t yet enabled for the New Twitter. So, I wondered what kept it on the waiting list. Maybe it was the incomplete profile information.

Google announced Google Web Elements at the I/O developer conference. It lets you easily add various Google elements to your site. Google Web Elements allows you to easily embed a Spreadsheet, Maps or News Results to your site.

Normally you set the page that you visit most often as your homepage. In many cases, it could be search engines like Google, Yahoo etc. or web aggregators like iGoogle. But there can be a couple of sites that you visit everyday and you open them up by clicking through your bookmarklets. However, if you forget to click on the bookmarklets, you might sometimes miss a very interesting article or news. Well you can have multiple home pages in Firefox as well. All of them open up in separate tabs and not in separate windows that makes it more easier for you.

Adsense is by far the best and the easiest tool to monetize your site. You can easily place ads on your site by putting the Javascript code snipped in the html of your site or blog. On 31st January 2009, Google Search had shown a serious error where it added “This site may harm your computer” to every search result. This Google Malware lasted for about 15 minutes. Google has given a clarification for that.
